3DPrint3.com is passionate about 3D Printing - in short we love 3D Printing! We can already see the exponential global impact on human lives, business, the economy, innovation and quality of life. Inspired by this we built this website to keep track our our research to date and share it with you guys - why not? (Strange people don't share more these days, this backwards insecure thinking holds the human race back!)

Anyway, we originally dabbled in 3D modelling at the birth of the modern internet, ahem, when building websites and experimenting with freebie software off the front of magazines such as Computer Arts :) great magazine - this was back in the 1990's when a Pentium 90Mhz was top of the range - and it took the whole night to render! (If interested you can see some of our early 3D dawdlings in the Retro Gallery.

Back in the late 90's 3D modelling was too slow and klunky for our liking so we moved into web design and then film making and multimedia and all things tech creative. However, our love of 3D modelling (and 3D generally) has always remained.

Fast forward to 2012 when 3D modelling packages are now so powerful and easy to use, interfaces have improved and hardware is powerful enough that complex renders can be down in seconds or minutes - and then along comes 3D Printing... :) Oooh, the excitement was too much to bear!

We first cam across 3D Printing in April 2012 and blogged about it... fast forward to November 2012 and those blogging predictions started coming true, 3D Printing started getting the attention and media coverage it deserved. We found ourselves googling and reading everything 3D Printing related, more and more... and more... until it became a bit of an obsession. And that is an intellectual cue to act on it :) So much information, interesting websites, companies, people, communities... and that's when www.3DPrint3.com was born :)

In summary, when off exploring the world of, ney universe of 3D Printing we decided we should create this website so we could keep all our findings in one place - and share it with whomever was interested! (hopefully you guys!). This is an organic site (why do people over plan websites?!?!?!?) so content and pages will naturally grow and evolve according to our research & interests - it is what it is and it'll grow how it grows.
